Empowering Arizona’s Future Together

PROGRAMS

Bags of Hope

Partnerships with Title 1 schools, working poor medical clinics, and after-school programs for underprivileged students allow for the distribution of weekend nutrition through Bags of Hope.

Every Friday, food insecure children in Maricopa County receive a Bag of Hope, a vital resource in addressing their food insecurity. This support ensures they receive the nutrition necessary to succeed in the classroom and lead a healthy life.

Family Food Pantries

Family Food Pantries on school campuses and in working poor medical clinics allow families to meet the nutritional needs of everyone in the home.  Many people served by Kitchen on the Street live in walking communities where the school or medical clinic is the hub. Hosting a pantry in a central location allows easy food access to those in need.

OPPORTUNITIES

SNAP Challenge

This fun team builder combines learning and a culinary competition. Participants get a crash course in Arizona’s SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Benefit, they are tested on the knowledge they gain, and the session culminates in a kitchen battle.  Competitors are challenged to prepare a meal within the SNAP guidelines.  Nutrition, presentation, taste, and cost are the four pillars on which each dish is judged.  This hands-on activity is perfect for groups of 8-16.  Email us today for more details.

Jr. Board

This year-long program allows Jr. High, High School, and College students the opportunity to create a philanthropic philosophy, develop an Elevator Pitch, present the Pitch, represent a nonprofit in the community, and act as a leader at volunteer events.  The application process occurs every August; look for details on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, or email us for specifics.
